The red and near-infrared light in red light therapy does not in itself have a harmful effect on the eyes, but looking directly into the light therapy lamp should be avoided as it is, after all, a very bright light. If you feel discomfort, you can also use safety glasses. It is not dangerous to stay in the same room as a bright lamp, but again you should not look directly into the light.
